Chisasibi Heritage & Cultural Centre

Our Mission

To protect, preserve, collect, research and exhibit our history, heritage, culture, language, oral traditional teaching, customs and values of Iyiyiyuuch and Inuit of Chisasibi.

We gather, strengthen, enhance, and interpret the rich heritage of our people through exhibitions and cultural programming in language, arts, crafts, songs, dance, legends, stories, and traditional activities by celebrating and sharing traditional skills, knowledge and values of our ancestors, we are a place of cultural renewal and learning.

We recognize and acknowledge the active participation of Our Elders, their wisdom and guidance will always be with us and will be passed on to present and future generations.
