Chief & Deputy Chief


Daisy House is presently serving her first term as Chief of the Cree Nation of Chisasibi. She previously completed three terms as Deputy Chief for a total of 13 years. Her fluency in English, French and Cree enables her to communicate well and interact with the various entities with which the Cree Nation of Chisasibi conducts business. Her entire career has been focused on service to the community in the fields of education and politics.

Prior to being elected to her current position, she has worked as the Director of the local daycare, Student Affairs Technician, teacher and Student Life Animator and Academic Advisor. She has also served as the Youth Chief.

Daisy has also maintained an on-going commitment to her own education. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Heritage College, a Family Life Certificate from Concordia University and has a Bachelor of Education degree as well as certificates in Aboriginal Literacy and Education for First Nations and Inuit from McGill University.

In acknowledgement of her many accomplishments, Daisy has been the honored recipient of the Community Recognition Award.

In addition, Daisy is a member of the Cree/Quebec Judicial Advisory Committee, board member of the Chisasibi Eeyou Resource and Research Institute, the Allen “General” Neacappo Foundation, and Vice-President of the Chisasibi Business Development Group and Chisasibi Center Inc., subsidiaries of the CNC.

Apart from her myriad public duties, Daisy is also the wife of James Lameboy and the around hockey mom of their two sons Dominic and Logan.
