To access Chisasibi Fitness Center services, everyone MUST complete those forms and read the Member’s Handbook and the Fitness Special Rules.

The Chisasibi Fitness Center has been developing fitness training programs since 2008. Our group of experienced Certified Personal Trainers can help members achieve their fitness goals using our 3 state of the art training areas. Equipped with free weights, dumbbells, kettlebells, power racks and cardio equipment, the Chisasibi Fitness Center has the best functional training layout in Eeyou Istchee.
The creation of our new “Cree Health, Fitness and Sport Literacy Program” will enable community members to engage in weekly activities which promote health, fitness and sport. Joining one of the programs will help participants learn about health topics, follow a structured program or improve their performance in sport. Single mothers, children, youth, adults and elders can enjoy our large 1,800 sq/ft public training area 1, or receive Personal training in our 2- 600 sq/ft semi private areas (2 and 3), for one hour, 2-6 times a week.

This pilot project funded by the Cree Nation Government (CNG) is intended to provide a physical activity program for High School Students in the Cree Nation of Chisasibi. The Programming will be organized, supervised and directed by the Chisasibi Fitness Center Team.
A weekly program schedule will be provided for activity times (1 hour daily & 2 to 6 times a week) for students aged 12 to 17 years of age who can register for a 4-week program. The CNG funding covers membership fees and the obligation to participate for individuals are:
– 80% daily attendance in school or more.
– Complete a minimum of 2 training sessions weekly.
Participants that cannot maintain the 2 above criteria will be withdrawn from the current 4 week program and put on a waiting list to rejoin at a later date.
Eligibility requirements are as such:
– Aged 12-17 years of age.
– Be a registered Student at the JBES (James Bay Eeyou School) 2022-2023 year.
– Committed to being more active!
All information, data and feedback from our project will be kept anonymous and confidential. The release of information will be requested if needed to individuals based on results and feedback received during the program. Parents and participants should review our Members Handbook (for all rules and policies in
place.)
First Nation people have survived using speed, strength and endurance for millennia. Through this pilot project, we aim to reinstil this core value of hard work and perseverance into our youth
